Dream Marks on My Pillow
Tossing and turning as the nightmares crawl over my skin. Their spindly fingers pick their way through my hair and break apart my skin. Their crawling inside my body, ripping out my arteries, biting my bones, and gnawing at my organs. I can't make a sound as they continue to eat away at my insides, I can't move now that they've eaten my nerves. I am in pain. I'm suffocating and bleeding out all at the same time. My eyes are frozen open, watching in horror from the mirror that hangs from my door. I'm almost nothing now, just a mass of shifting black and a face. A figure slowly appears in front of me. It has dripping black skin and jagged hands made of glass. It opened it's mouth, showing me it's sharp, needle-like teeth. It closes in on me, taking my head within it's hot, slimy mouth that stunk of rotting meat and bile. I let out a scream, sitting up and clutching my heart. Trying to catch my breath I see my body is still in tact. Getting up, face full of tears, I turn on the light.
